Then Brighton to East Croydon, back over its Thumping ground to Uckfield, then the final leg, Uckfield to London Bridge. Excellent day out. Saturday 27 November 2004: The Thumper Farewell. B & B in Norwich, then back to Liverpool Street. This was the last weekend of the Ipswich Tunnel closure, so trips between Liverpool Street and Norwich were via Cambridge and Ely. Liverpool Street to Cambridge - pushed by 90001 , Cambridge to Norwich via Ely pulled by 47813 (90001 still on the back) , Norwich to Great Yarmouth 47818 stuck on the front (90001 still there and now 47813 on the back) , Great Yarmouth to Norwich pulled by 47813 (90001 AND 47818 still on the back!). Norwich to Cambridge 47818 dragging 86215 + train , 47818 removed then back to only one loco, 86215 , for the run to Liverpool Street. The stretch of canal from just round the corner of Gare de l'Est to where it goes underground is very nice. It then re-appears at Opera Bastille before it disappears into the Seine through the lock under the Metro. Wednesday 30 April 2003: A long day wandering around Paris, photos from Gare de L'Est, Gare de Lyon and Gare d'Austerlitz.
